The operation
Non-desalinated saltwater supply
Aguas Esperanza owns two Saltwater Pumping Systems (SIAM) that supply saltwater to mining operations of Antofagasta Minerals in the Antofagasta Region. One is operating (SIAM I) and the other is under construction (SIAM II).
SIAM I
The first system, existing since 2010, was acquired by Aguas Esperanza in early 2024 and has been operated by our company since then. It supplies non-desalinated saltwater to 100% of the Centinela and Antucoya mining operations.
SIAM II
In parallel to the already existing pipeline, a second system is being built that will supply the water required for the expansion of the Nueva Centinela mining operation.
